you've created your first Blogger site – now what? The most important part of any blogging site is the content, so let's take a look at how to create that all important first post. Blogger Dashboard
From your Blogger dashboard, clicking the orange button next to the blog you want to create a post for. You'll immediately be taken to the post composer, which works in a similar way to writing a document, or an email.
First of all, make sure you're in 'Compose' mode. HTML mode allows for advanced editing, but is a lot harder to master. Head to the title bar and give your post a title. It can be fun or formal, depending on the tone of your blog.
Drafting Your Blog
Now, you can start creating the content for your blog! Don't forget to use the toolbar to adjust your text. You can change the font style or size, add bold or italic formatting, or even change the color of your text or highlighter. You can add a link to your text by clicking the 'link' option. You can add either enter a web address or an email address, which your readers can use to contact you.
Once you're happy with your blog, click the 'Preview' button to see how it would look live. This is a useful tool to check formatting options are all correct and gives you a final chance to check for spelling errors.
Before You Publish
Before you publish your post, head to your post settings, located on the right-hand side of the screen. Here, you have a number of options. Labels allow you to add tags to your post, making organization and SEO much more effective. The Schedule option allows you to control when your post is published. Choose the automatic option to control this setting yourself, or set a specific time and date and Blogger will do all the hard work for you. The Permalink option allows you to customize the URL of each individual blog post. The Location option allows you to mark a point on the map tagging your current location. Finally, the options menu allows you to change when comments are allowed or not.
When you're ready, click 'Publish' to publish your post live on the web. It's important to remember that no one else can see your blog until you publish, so if you're not ready, click the 'Save' option and finish the job at a later date!
If you wish, you can share your post with your friends by entering their details into the space provided. You can also edit your blog after publishing by highlighting the post you can to alter and clicking 'Edit'. View the post live on your site by clicking the 'View' option.
